Time to panic in Hockeytown.
As if losing Nicklas Lidstrom wasn’t a big enough blow to this Red Wings team, we are now learning that Pavel Datsyuk plans to head back home to Russia after the 2013-2014 season. To me, this is the bright, blinking sign in the sky that tells us that things are not going to be the same around Hockeytown for some time. Detroit Red Wings Summer 2010.
As of yesterday, the Wings have their captain and top defenseman back on a 1 year deal. Though I would have been happier to see him sign between 4.5 and 5.5 million, I am excited for his return and what I believe will be his final season in the NHL.
